Pet Therapy with Pelusa
Date: Every Tuesday @ 2 to 3 pm. in person
Drop by the PFLS to meet Pelusa, one of the adorable and friendly dogs that is part of CAMH's volunteer pet therapy program. Pelusa will be hanging out in the PFLS every Tuesday between 2 and 3 pm and is looking forward to some chin scratches and belly rubs!
No registration needed.
Toronto Public Library Pop-up
Date: March 14th @ 2 to 4 pm in person
Kristy, a Librarian from Parkdale Library will be creating TPL library cards, and will have library items to borrow. She will also explain how to use Toronto Public Library's many online resources available with a library card and have information about upcoming library programs.
Registration is NOT necessary. Drop by any time between 2 to 4 pm.
CAT (Cognitive Adaptation Training) for Families
Date: March 21st @ 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Online.
Cognitive Adaptation Training (CAT) is a practical, evidence-based approach for families and caregivers of adults living with schizophrenia. In this interactive workshop you will gain strategies and tools to help your loved one build independence in taking care of themselves, their spaces, and participating in their communities.
Our presenter: Erin AuCoin (she/her) is a Registered Occupational Therapist working in the Cognitive Adaptation Training (CAT) service at CAMH.
Winter Art Sessions: Hearts of Hope
March 22nd @ 2 to 4 pm. in person
In this two hour art workshop, artist Taryn Lee (she/her) will guide participants through drawing, painting, collage and other materials to create their own mixed media paper heart.
By the end of the workshop, participants can take it with them or contribute it towards a larger community installation that will be displayed in the CAMH Patient and Family Learning Space windows. Registration is limited to 15 participants.
Yoga for Wellness & Recovery (Trauma-Informed Yoga)
Date: March 29th @ 4 to 5 pm. in person.
Focusing on the relationship between mood management and the mind-body connection, sessions offer a combination of breathing, movement, postures and mindfulness. Participants will explore the physical, mental and emotional benefits of a yoga practice. Yoga can be a positive addition to an effective treatment plan for various conditions and disorders, such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and addiction. Teachings are trauma-informed and adaptable for all levels. Registration is limited to 15 participants.
