Inspired teaching fosters inspired learning—CAMH improves the quality of care for all through excellence in professional education.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement Through Education
As an academic health sciences centre and a growing learning organization, we are continuously evaluating new methods and processes to improve the quality of care through education. We share our best practices broadly across our organization, through knowledge translation and collaboration across the mental health system and the community at large. We look forward to what the future has to teach us, and everything we can teach it.
CAMH Health Equity Framework for Education and Training
The Health Equity and Inclusion Framework for Education and Training recognizes health inequities and considers the needs of vulnerable and marginalized populations. It promotes learning environments and experiences that respect learner diversity, ensure accessibility for all learners, foster inclusion and are free of biases and stereotypes. This framework was developed by CAMH and is meant for use by anyone involved in the process of designing, developing and/or delivering training, courses and curriculum for health professionals.
Through the highest quality learning experiences, we're building a CAMH where everyone can be the best teacher and student they can be.
Cutting-edge Education Research & Scholarship
As part of our commitment to providing high-quality education to health professionals and professionals-in-training, CAMH bases its practices on cutting-edge education research and scholarship. Much of that research is conducted right here at CAMH through the exceptional work of our education team.
These innovative practices result in health professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure the best possible outcomes for their patients. Our ability to draw from research accelerates knowledge exchange and gives healthcare professionals the confidence to know they are uniquely poised to improve the lives of those with whom they work.
Education Achievements 2020-2021
As an education and knowledge exchange leader in mental health, Education at CAMH is committed to preparing healthcare professionals, patients and communities for the future, monitoring impact and ensuring alignment with emerging needs. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we have achieved milestones that include transitioning to remote learning for most in-person training, supporting families and patient education and transferring knowledge through research and publications. Please see the Education Achievement 2020-21 report that highlights key Education work at CAMH in 2020–2021.
The Evidence is All Around Us
CAMH Education is involved on a myriad of fronts across the organization to meet these important objectives, and the output is undeniable.
