What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of this study is to understand thinking difficulties in those seeking support for substance use concerns. We will ask about your daily life, medical history, substance use and mental health symptoms, and collect blood and urine samples (optional) to look at substances in your body. We will also ask you to complete tasks on the computer in the lab to better understand your thinking, memory and attention processes.
Who is needed?
- Individuals with alcohol use disorder or substance use disorder
Age range: 18-60
Gender: All
Ethnicity: All
What does the study involve?
- 2 in-person visits, 6 virtual visits
- Time period: one year
- Length of contacts: one 6hr visit at baseline and one 6hr visit after 1 year, five 30min bimonthly visits (Webex/phone/in-person)
- Treatment offered: No
