Program Overview
CAMH's Mood and Anxiety Inpatient Unit (MAUI) is a 12-bed unit that provides short-term inpatient treatment for individuals with a mood and/or anxiety disorder who are in the acute phases of their illness.
Patients who are 18 years and over are admitted only through the Emergency Department. The treatment team consists of psychiatrists, a general practitioner, nurses and a social worker. Programming is enhanced by services provided by recreational therapy, occupational therapists and peer support workers. Specialized programs exist for the treatment and research of new treatments for mood and anxiety disorders.
