Dr. Yarissa Herman, C.Psych is a psychologist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, where she is the head of a substance use Harm Reduction Program for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Dr. Herman is also a psychologist and course director with UHN’s psychedelic psychotherapy research group and an assistant professor in the University of Toronto’s Department of Psychiatry.
Areas of Research
Dr. Herman’s areas of focus have included psychosocial interventions for substance use and psychotic spectrum disorders, the intersection between psychosis and psychedelic use, and the safety and feasibility of psychedelic assisted psychotherapy to treat mental health and substance use disorders.
