Dr. Mahavir Agarwal is a Clinician-Scientist in the Schizophrenia Division and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
His research interest lies in understanding the mechanisms underlying the interaction between schizophrenia pathophysiology, antipsychotics, cognition, and metabolic abnormalities with specific focus on the insulin signaling in the brain. He is a part of the Mental Health and Metabolism Clinic and the Medication Assessment Program for Schizophrenia (MAPS)/Clozapine Clinic at CAMH.
He has received grant funding from CIHR, PSI Foundation, Ontario, and the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, and has authored over 50 research publications.
