Dr. Joanna Henderson is Director of the Margaret and Wallace McCain Centre for Child, Youth & Family Mental Health and Interim Implementation Director of the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression at CAMH. She is also Senior Scientist in the Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program at CAMH, and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
Dr. Henderson’s research focuses on improving service delivery and access to care for youth with substance use, mental health or concurrent disorders and their families, through collaborative models of service delivery and knowledge translation and exchange.
Dr. Henderson currently leads four federally funded projects that aim to improve the identification, understanding and treatment of youth mental health and substance use concerns through building and supporting integrated approaches to providing care to youth and families. These projects involve cross-sectoral community, health and government partners in over 20 communities across Canada’s provinces and territories, and have had substantial impacts on practice and policy nationally.
