Dr. Gwyneth Zai is a scientist in the Molecular Science department, a staff psychiatrist and Head of the Obsessive-Compulsive-Disorder (OCD) and Anxiety Disorder Services at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
She is also an associate professor at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto, and an affiliated Visiting Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge.
Areas of Research
Dr. Zai’s research interests include developing novel treatment and using multi-modal approaches — genetics, epigenetics, pharmacogenomics, neuroimaging, and cognitive neuroscience — to develop treatment supports for depressive, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. Dr. Zai has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and her research has been recognized by international, national, and local stakeholders including the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation (NARSAD Young Investigator Grant), International OCD Foundation (Young Investigator Grant), International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (Max Hamilton Memorial Prize), Canadian Psychiatric Association (Early Career Psychiatrist Research Award), the Ontario Physicians’ Services Incorporated Foundation, and CAMH (Womenmind Leadership Fund and AFP Innovative Fund).
