Dr. Deb Chiodo is the director of research and implementation for the Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Collaboration Centre, an associate scientist at the Margaret and Wallace McCain Centre for Child, Youth & Family Mental Health at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and an adjunct research professor at Western University in the School of Child and Applied School Psychology Program.
At the Collaboration Centre, Dr. Chiodo supports development, implementation and evaluation of IYS practices, services, and research across Canada. Dr. Chiodo’s research focus on improving service experience and access to mental health and substance use services for youth and translating evidence into real world practice.
Areas of Research
As a leader in the field of Integrated Youth Services (IYS), Dr. Chiodo’s expertise lies at the intersection of research, implementation science, and system-level evaluation. Currently serving as the Director of Research and Implementation for the Pan-Canadian IYS Collaboration Centre, Dr. Chiodo specializes in developing Learning Health Systems (LHS) that utilize real-time data to improve mental health outcomes for young people.
Dr. Chiodo’s research portfolio is defined by large-scale, multi-million dollar initiatives funded by CIHR, focusing on data harmonization, measurement-based care, and the co-design of digital health platforms. With a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Dr. Chiodo has spent over two decades bridging the gap between academic research and community practice, particularly in the areas of school-based prevention, integrated youth services, youth justice, and child welfare. Beyond research, Dr. Chiodo’s commitment to academic excellence is reflected in her role as an active adjunct research professor at Western University.
