Cameron Fowler is the chief strategy and operations officer, BMO Financial Group. In this newly created role, Cam draws the bank’s strategy, digital operations, innovation, procurement, workplace transformation, marketing, and social impact initiatives more closely together.
A member of the BMO Financial Group Executive Committee, Mr. Fowler joined the company in January 2009 as Executive Vice-President and Head of Strategy and Marketing, BMO. Mr. Fowler also served as Executive Vice-President, Canadian Personal & Commercial Banking, and President, North American Personal & Business Banking were he was responsible for setting the strategic direction for all customer segments and providing leadership across the Personal and Business Banking businesses in Canada and the U.S. Prior to his appointment, Cam was the Group Head for Canadian Personal & Commercial Banking.
Before joining BMO, Mr. Fowler was the Managing Director & Head of Barclays Wealth International with Barclays in London, UK. He also held various senior positions within Barclays, Delano Technology Corporation and Braxton Associates/Deloitte Consulting and served as Policy Advisor for the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Government of Ontario.
Mr. Fowler is currently Chair of the Executive Council of the Canadian Bankers Association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for CivicAction and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation. Mr. Fowler has served as a past chair of Moneris Solutions and the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer and was named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40. He has a BA (honours) from Queen’s University and received his MBA from the London Business School at the University of London (UK).
