As CAMH's Vice President, Corporate Services and CFO, Brian Edmonds is a Chartered Professional Accountant/CA and holds a master's degree in health sciences administration from the University of Michigan. His executive interests include strategic planning, fiscal accountability, the development of new funding models for health care, change management, corporate governance and performance improvement.
Most recently, Brian was the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Ontario Healthcare Procurement Alliance, and took the organization through an integration with Plexxus, a leading health care shared service organization. Prior to that, for approximately ten years, Brian provided interim executive leadership and strategic consulting advice to a variety of Ontario-based teaching and community, private and public health service providers as these organizations looked for performance improvement opportunities. Through these engagements, Brian has worked with many hospitals going through capital redevelopment and negotiated for the subsequent operating funding. Brian has worked extensively with the full board and the audit and finance committees of many hospitals to develop appropriate governance processes and tools.
For seven years prior, Brian was the Vice President, Finance of the Trillium Health Centre, where he was instrumental in the introduction of the Strategic Framework and developed tools to enhance decision-making and fiscal accountability.
