Event Overview
Visit Shkaabe Makwa at their interactive and educational booth at the Pride StreetFair in collaboration with the CAMH Pride Planning Committee.
The booth is a culturally safe hub where Two-Spirit and Indigenous 2SLGBTQ+ community members, allies, and health service providers can connect with Indigenous-led wellness resources.
The booth will feature:
- Educational Outreach: Staff will provide information on the various mental health and wellness supports offered by Shkaabe Makwa and CAMH.
- Training Promotion: A primary focus will be on promoting the Indigenous Gender and Wellness Asynchronous Training. Attendees can learn about the curriculum, view course previews, and receive instructions on how to register for this self-paced learning opportunity.
- Community Engagement: The space will facilitate meaningful dialogue regarding the intersection of Indigenous culture and gender wellness, offering a visible presence for Indigenous health within the broader Pride festivities.
