We’re excited to share that CAMH President and CEO Sarah Downey has been named the next Chair of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN) starting this September.
TAHSN brings together Toronto’s top hospitals and academic institutions to collaborate on education, research, and health system improvement - and Sarah’s appointment is a great reflection of the leadership and innovation she brings not only to CAMH, but to the healthcare community.
Over the years, Sarah has been an active voice at the TAHSN table, championing key initiatives like advancing equity in health care and supporting stronger partnerships across the sector. Prior to CAMH, Sarah has also served in leadership roles at TAHSN hospitals like Michael Garron Hospital and UHN, and served as the Board Chair of the Ontario Hospital Association.
“I’m honoured and excited to take on this role at TAHSN,” says Sarah, “and I look forward to working alongside other healthcare leaders to improve health outcomes, while furthering research and education collaboration across TAHSN organizations.”
As she takes on this new role, we know Sarah will continue to bring energy, compassion, and a bold vision to help shape the future of academic health in our city. We’re proud to have her represent CAMH in this important position.
