Toronto, ON (27 July 2026) — CAMH Foundation is pleased to welcome Kate Torrance as its new Chief Brand & Growth Officer, effective September 8th. As a member of the executive leadership team, Kate will lead the Foundation’s integrated brand, marketing, communications and growth strategy, helping CAMH connect with new and diverse audiences, expand its community of supporters and grow the mental health movement.
Kate is an award-winning brand and marketing leader with more than 25 years of experience turning bold creative ideas into transformational revenue and category-defining brands. She joins CAMH Foundation from SickKids Foundation, where she spent a decade as Vice President, Head of Brand, Content & Communications.
“Mental health is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and CAMH has bold ambitions to meet this moment.” said Anne-Marie Newton, President & CEO of CAMH Foundation. “Kate is globally recognized as an exceptional brand strategist and an equally remarkable leader. Her strategic insight, understanding of the complexities of academic health sciences and deep commitment to CAMH’s mission and values make her exactly the person we need for this next stage of our evolution. I feel incredibly fortunate that she has chosen to bring her extraordinary talent to CAMH Foundation and the cause of mental health.”
At SickKids Foundation, Kate was a core architect of the globally recognized SickKids VS brand platform, widely credited with redefining non-profit marketing in Canada and beyond. She also led the public launch of Precision Child Health, generating more than 300 million earned media impressions and helping secure more than $700 million in early campaign commitments. During her tenure, SickKids Foundation became the most recognized charity brand in Canada, while its brand and marketing work helped support the delivery of $1.7 billion against a $1.5 billion campaign goal and earned more than 400 global creative awards.
Before joining SickKids Foundation, Kate spent 20 years at leading Canadian advertising agencies, including Zulu Alpha Kilo and BBDO, where she led national campaigns for brands such as Bell, Corona, Starbucks, Coca-Cola and Budweiser. She is a 2026 Cannes Lions Jury member, a past Co-Chair of Effie Awards Canada and a frequent keynote speaker at global marketing and non-profit gatherings, including events hosted by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Copenhagen, IFC Amsterdam, The Gathering in Banff and CICLOPE Berlin.
Kate’s leadership will strengthen CAMH Foundation’s ability to build a powerful, integrated brand and growth platform as the organization accelerates its ambition to position CAMH as a national and global leader in mental health. Working in lockstep with CAMH’s Public Affairs leaders, she will help ensure a unified voice and coordinated approach to advancing CAMH’s reputation and impact. Through bold storytelling, meaningful audience engagement and innovative approaches to fundraising, she will help inspire more people to join the movement for mental health.
