There are no change to the number of staff or patient positive COVID-19 diagnoses today.
CAMH has received updated guidance from Toronto Public Health about an enhanced level of COVID-19 testing for CAMH staff and patients that are connected to suspected or confirmed outbreak units.
As previously communicated, there is a suspected COVID-19 outbreak on Geriatric Inpatient Unit A (GAUA), and confirmed COVI-19 outbreaks on Units 3-1 and 3-5. The units continue to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including contact and droplet precautions
This enhanced level of COVID-19 testing means that in addition to the symptomatic staff and patients who have already been tested, all asymptomatic staff an patients on these units will now receive testing. Staff who work on GAUA and on Units 3-1, 3-5 are receiving instructions for testing over the next 24 hours.
CAMH works closely with Toronto Public Health on reporting, surveillance and infection control. Our staff continually monitors and follows the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) recommendation from public health as they are updated, including screening and use of personal protective equipment.
CAMH is deeply grateful to staff and physicians who are working to deliver mental health care to those in need.
