It feels like just yesterday that the CAMH community - staff, patients, donors, and supporters - came together to celebrate the groundbreaking of the fourth and final phase of CAMH’s historic redevelopment. Back in February 2024, we donned purple CAMH-branded “hard” hats, heard from inspiring speakers (including those who will benefit most from these new spaces), and cheered on the teams who would bring this vision to life.
Now, just a year and a half later, we’re marking a major milestone: the Temerty Discovery Centre has reached 50% construction completion!
This achievement would not be possible without the dedication of our Redevelopment team, our construction partners at PCL, and the unwavering support of CAMH staff, patients, donors, and community members.
When it opens in late summer 2027, the Temerty Discovery Centre will unite CAMH research programs under one roof - fostering collaboration, sparking discovery, and accelerating innovations that save lives. Spanning 385,000 square feet, the building will house more than two-thirds of CAMH’s 1,400+ research staff and increase our research capacity by 43%, creating space for new scientists, staff, students, and trainees.
Highlights from the Construction Journey
We’re excited to share a snapshot of the incredible progress happening behind the scaffolding.
