The Application Process
The process for accepting new volunteers can take several months. Placements are based on a balance between staff and client
needs and the volunteer’s motivations and abilities. If a position becomes available that suits your skills, interests and
schedule as described in your application, you will be contacted for an interview. If after the interview you are selected
for a volunteer position you will need to complete the following before officially registering as a CAMH volunteer:
- Your references must complete and return a CAMH reference form
- Perform a pre-placement health screening that includes a two step TB test
- Submit a Police Reference Check (for certain volunteer placements)
- Successfully complete a general Volunteer Training
- Sign a Confidentiality and Service Agreement
