Educating Students about Drug Use and Mental Health - Curriculum Support for the Ontario Curriculum

Educating Students about Drug Use and Mental Health -- Ready-To-Use Lesson Plans for Your Classroom -

Elementary Schools (Grades 1-8): Teachers began using the revised Health and Physical Education, Grades 1-8 (Interim Edition) in September 2010. As a result, the lesson plans and materials from the CAMH website Educating Students about Drug Use and Mental Health -- Ready-To-Use Lesson Plans for Your Classroom – Grades 1 – 8 have been removed.

Ophea has developed the NEW Ophea Health and Physical Education (H&PE) Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8 in both English and French. These resources were developed to support implementation of Ontario’s 2010 H&PE Curriculum. Details on accessing these resources is available at the main page of OPHEA's curriculum site.

Secondary Schools (Grades 9-12): The lesson plans and materials for secondary schools (Grades 9-10 substance use and Grades 11-12 Mental Health) can still be accessed on this website while the Health and Physical Education, Grades 9 and 10 and Health and Physical Education, Grades 11 and 12 remain in the curricula review cycle.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) developed lesson plans in English and French that meet the expectations of the substance use and abuse component of The Ontario Curriculum, Grades 9 and 10: Health and Physical Education, 1999 and the mental health expectations of The Ontario Curriculum, Grades 11 and 12: Health and Physical Education, 1999

The lesson plans are intended to be used by Educators, Health Units, Community Agencies and others involved in education efforts. Please cut and paste these lesson plans as needed.

The additional information available on this website includes:
