While many people with depression respond to treatment, some do not recover enough even after trying multiple treatments. We think that some people with depression may not respond to treatments because the brain cannot make enough energy for the treatment to work. This study uses brain imaging to look at the brain's ability to make energy. We hope that results from this study would help develop more effective and personalized treatments for individuals with depression in the future.
