Dr. Yona Lunsky is the Research Head of the Dual Diagnosis Program. She is an Associate Professor with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences.
Areas of Research
Dr. Lunsky has focused her research on the mental health needs of adults with intellectual disabilities. She is interested in psychosocial risk factors for psychiatric disorders and health service utilization patterns in this population. Dr. Lunsky is currently the principal investigator of several studies examining clinical and systems issues related to health services for those with a dual diagnosis. She is also involved in a number of projects related to the attitudes and training needs of health care professionals and trainees who work with persons with intellectual disabilities.
