  5. Pharmacological assessment and treatment related to sex drive

Who We Are

Our team includes professionals from psychiatry, psychology, sexology, social work, and other disciplines.

Whom We Serve

The clinic only provides services to individuals over the age of 18. Our clients typically include:

  1. People who have been convicted of a sexual offence and are serving community sentences (this includes contact offences, child pornography offences, and other non-contact offences);
  2. People who are on formal mental health diversion through the court for a sexual-related offence;
  3. People who are distressed by their sexual interest and/or behaviours {this includes both legal, (i.e., excessive masturbation and pornography use), and illegal, (i.e., an interest in child pornography)];
  4. People with intellectual disabilities and those with concurrent mental illness and/or substance abuse issues, who are experiencing challenges with their sexual behaviour (this includes people with or without criminal convictions).

Importantly, we also provide services to the families of people who have been convicted of sexual offences.  A referral is not required for this service and individuals who are interested in this service may contact the clinic directly.

The clinic caters to diverse cultural and linguistic communities.  CAMH interpretation services are provided for clients as needed for both assessment and treatment.

* We do not accept referrals where the main referral question is related to gender identity.  Please contact Access CAMH for gender identity referral questions at 416-535-8501, press 2 or via fax at 416-979-6815.

How to Access Services

Clients can be referred to the Sexual Behaviours Clinic by a physician, probation officer, or court mental health diversion case worker.  To determine the most appropriate treatment options, an assessment includes a clinical interview and may include phallometric testing. For more information regarding assessments, please call the clinic and/or review the document describing the assessment process.

Probation officers & court mental health diversion case workers, please fill out the following form in addition to the referral form: - Legal History Form - Sexual Behaviours Clinic (PDF)

Individuals referred by physicians and by parole/probation offices will be assessed only at the conclusion of any outstanding legal issues related to sexual behaviour.  Please note that our clinic does not conduct in-depth risk assessments for sexual offending/re-offending.  These assessments can be conducted by CAMH’s Psycho-legal clinic or a community provider.
