For Immediate Release - August 25, 2006 – (Toronto) – Come join the staff, clients, volunteers, family and friends of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in support of participants as they race to the finish line at the 12th annual Don River Run for Recovery on August 27, 2006 at 10 a.m.
This year, CAMH is proud to partner with A-Way Express Couriers, a not-for-profit organization founded and staffed by people living with mental illness.
CAMH is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and holistic care, and recognizes the importance of fitness to well-being. Working towards this commitment, proceeds from the Don River Run go towards Fitness in Treatment Research Advisory Panel (FITRAP) at CAMH, which contributes to the health and wellness of clients by making valuable recreational activities more accessible at CAMH.
Olivia Chow, MP, Trinity-Spadina will give remarks and present medals to runners in several categories. Ms. Chow will be available for photographs during the awards ceremony beginning at 12 pm. Kathleen Wynne, MPP, Don Valley West will also be participating, including as an enthusiastic runner!
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is a specialized teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, and is the largest mental health and addiction facility in Canada.
