Full Event Description

We are putting together a collection of stories, much alike the chicken soup for the soul type model from survivors of all kinds of traumatic experiences.   We are looking for stories for this book with the tentative title “Journeys from Trauma”.

The over-arching purpose of this book is Voice. The voice of the people who have had their voice taken from them through the trauma in whatever form it was for them in their life. Within this arc we are also wanting to present the experience of hope and transformation to others who are dealing with trauma in their life.

Within this overall purpose we would invite people to:

·share the nature of the trauma

·share the effects of the trauma on their life

·share what it was that had them take their first steps towards their healing journey

·share what has been the most helpful to them in their healing journey

·share what they feel a person needs to do when they are trapped in trauma

Other important notes

·Please keep stories to 5 pages maximum

Please do not provide specific details that could be considered a breach of confidentiality, for example: A story about bullying should omit the school name and simply say “high school” or grade school etc.

*Please also note that all the witters to these stories will be keep confidential*
