Borderline Personality Disorder: Tackling a treatment crisis

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) – a serious psychiatric disorder characterized by features including unstable emotion and behavior  is as common as schizophrenia — both affect about 1 in 100 adults — yet there are significantly fewer resources available for patients living with the disorder.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is looking for ways to make treatment more accessible. Researchers from the CAMH BPD clinic are examining whether patients could benefit from a shorter length of treatment which could reduce wait times in existing programs.
