Photo-novella Health Promotion Project

CAMH is pleased and proud to present this series of five stories in photographs (photo-novellas). Published in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Créole, these stories illustrate the most common problems associated with drinking, problem gambling, depression, drugs and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Improving mental health and addiction literacy and service access is a major goal of the project. The five photo essays use professional quality photography and short scripts to bring to life the topics of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, drugs, alcohol and gambling. These booklets assist readers to better understand, and accept, individuals who are dealing with substance use and mental problems, as well as offer basic information about prevention and where to go for help.

Inspired by local system needs, community stakeholders and consumer/survivors were proactively involved in this product. The photo-novellas series also relied on the expertise, insights, knowledge and work of many CAMH staff.

Print versions of titles in this series are available in pre-packed sets only. Individual titles are available in PDF format using the links below (please note that all the files are quite large to maintain the size and quality of photographs and artwork within).
