Transforming Lives Here

The CAMH Queen Street Redevelopment Project represents a bold new vision that will transform the face of mental health and addictions care, bringing new pride to our organization and our City.

The atmosphere of stigma that hangs over the current site is being replaced with a positive feeling of community and comfort – where clients and staff will feel empowered by their environment and where being part of the community is part of the treatment.

CAMH has embarked on the second phase – Phase 1B – of its redevelopment journey with the construction of three new buildings: the Gateway Building, the Intergenerational Wellness Centre, and the Utilities and Parking Building.

The CAMH Redevelopment Project will weave together new cutting-edge CAMH facilities with shops, residences, businesses, parks, and through-streets, integrating CAMH with the community to become a seamless part of the neighbourhood. It will deliver a new model of care, provide a healthy environment that promotes recovery, revitalize our city, and change attitudes by breaking down barriers to eliminate stigma.

As well, the new hub being built on Queen Street West will allow clinicians, researchers, educators, health care students, and health promotion experts to work and learn together. At the same time, it will bring services closer to where people live through an increased emphasis on outpatient services, and outreach.
