Dr. Tarek K. Rajji is a Staff Psychiatrist and a Clinician Researcher with the Geriatric Mental Health Program at CAMH. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Coordinator of Research in the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
Dr. Rajji's research has two overarching goals: (1) understanding the mechanisms that underlie cognitive deficits in patients with schizophrenia and the interactions between aging and schizophrenia on the trajectories of cognition and function across the lifespan; and (2) developing novel interventions to restore cognition and function in patients with severe mental illness. In collaboration with other researchers within CAMH and abroad, Dr. Rajji utilizes brain stimulation, neurophysiological, pharmacological, and psychosocial approaches towards achieving these goals.
