Dr. Ruth Ross is a Senior Scientist with the Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute and Chair, Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto. 

Areas of Research

A leading authority in cannabinoid research, Dr. Ross has published in several leading, high-impact journals and has a research portfolio that is internationally collaborative. Dr. Ross’s research is primarily focused on understanding the molecular pharmacology of cannabinoids and related lipid signaling systems. The long-term goal of her work is to gain new insights into the deleterious effects of cannabis smoking, the potential medicinal uses of cannabis, and the development of small molecules targeting G protein-coupled receptors.
