Dr. Romina Mizrahi is a Clinician Scientist in CAMH’s Research Imaging Centre, and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
The goal of Dr. Romina Mizrahi’s research is to develop a better understanding of the nature and cause of schizophrenia and its treatment. Her current research program is investigating the relationship between stress and psychosis. Dr. Mizrahi is using positron emission tomography (PET) to look at the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. She also uses the experience sampling method (ESM) to tap into daily experiences of stress and attenuated psychotic symptoms in persons at risk for psychosis, in those that use cannabis and experience psychotic symptoms, and in inviduals with schizophrenia.
