Dr. James Cantor is a Clinical Psychologist in the Law and Mental Health Program at CAMH and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
Dr. Cantor leads an interdisciplinary team of researchers from CAMH and other Toronto-based hospitals studying the role of the brain in causing pedophilia. His clinical activities focus primarily on the assessment of persons dealing with illegal or clinically significant sexual behaviours and interests. Dr. Cantor serves on the editorial boards of the Archives of Sexual Behavior, the Journal of Sex Research, and Sexual Abuse. He also founded and manages the NewPsychList, an Internet discussion list for over 3,500 recent and soon-to-be doctorates in psychology.
