Dr. Doris Payer is an Independent Scientist in the Addictions Program at CAMH, and part of the Addiction Imaging Research Group in the CAMH Research Imaging Centre.
Areas of Research
Dr. Payer completed her doctoral and post-doctoral training in the UCLA NeuroImaging Training Program, UCLA Department of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences, and CAMH Research Imaging Centre, with a focus on translational neuroscience of addictions. Her research uses brain imaging (MRI and PET) to understand how factors that predispose to or result from drug abuse, such as genetics, personality, cognition/emotion, or response to stress, relate to brain chemistry/functional integrity and clinical outcomes.
