The Concurrent Youth Inpatient Unit is a full-service hospital program dedicated to the clinical care of youth, 14 to 18 years old, who require voluntary or involuntary inpatient treatment for ‘concurrent disorders’. It is the first of its kind in Canada.
We are dedicated to serving both the youth in our care and their families. Our interprofessional team, cross-trained in mental health and addiction, provide intensive and individualized treatment, including medical withdrawal management and cognitive behaviour therapy. Group, family and individual outpatient aftercare services are considered a critical part of an inpatient stay on the Concurrent Youth Inpatient Program.
Referrals: Youth can self-refer or be referred by a physician, hospital, community agency or school.
