Addiction Clinical Consultation Service (ACCS)

The Addiction Clinical Consultation Service (ACCS) is designed to serve Health and Social Service professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, occupational health staff, social workers, correctional staff, addiction workers and others who care for clients who have alcohol and drug problems. The ACCS team includes experienced clinicians from medical, psychosocial and pharmacy areas. The Addiction Clinical Consultation Service is not designed to deal with health emergencies. If your client's health is in immediate danger, he or she should be referred to the nearest available hospital emergency department. The ACCS aims to provide advice on:

  • medical complications of drug and alcohol use
  • management of clients with addiction problems
  • counselling for individuals, couples and families
  • alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs, prescription and over-the-counter drugs
  • drug interactions
  • concurrent disorders

Contact: 1-888-720-ACCS (2227), or (416) 595-6968 in the Toronto area.

The ACCS line is for Ontario health and social service professionals only.  We are unable to field calls from the general public.

Staff will assess your query, contact the appropriate consultant team (medical, psycho-social or pharmacy), and provide relevant information and materials. A consultant will return your call within 4 business hours.
