We're improving existing treatment systems
The Slaight Family Centre is assisting in the design, implementation, and sustainability of integrated care pathways (ICPs) in core clinics within CAMH. ICPs place the client at the center of his or her own care, rigorously evaluate patient care, and standardize best practices.
At Slaight, this means that all members of the care team--spanning clinicians, scientists, and staff--seamlessly work together to increase alignment and integration, reduce redundancy, and streamline service delivery.
At present, we're conducting research to determine which of a number of novel treatment options work, and for what clients. These treatments span psychosocial interventions, cognitive remediation therapy, and virtual reality training. When the findings come in, we immediately implement them in clinical practice.
We're making a real impact, now
Today. We know that innovation means little if clients don't access our services. At CAMH, all clinical programs that serve transition-aged youth will be brought under the Slaight Centre umbrella. And, ACCESS CAMH and Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program intake/assessment clinics have a dedicated resource to identify youth-in-transition patients.
