In November 2011, CAMH announced the largest gift to mental health
research in Canada. The Campbell family of Toronto made a landmark
donation of $30 million to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute focuses on
interdisciplinary research to deliver early detection methods
and effective new treatments for the millions of people worldwide who
struggle with mental illness or addiction.
The Institute is a
part of CAMH’s growing psychiatric and addictions research program with
an emphasis on clinical translational neuroscience. Two early areas of
focus are neural circuitry and brain plasticity.
