CAMH treats thousands of Ontarians for addictions each year,
as well as conducting research and providing education, health promotion and
public policy recommendations on addictions issues locally, nationally and
internationally.
This National Addictions Awareness Week, CAMH will be
preparing some new Ontario
research on trends in adults’ use of substances like cannabis, alcohol and
prescription opioids. Our experts will be commenting on Health Canada’s decision not to block approval of generic forms of OxyContin, and blogging on
casinos and problem gambling. And we will be reminding the public of resources
that CAMH has available for everyone concerned about addictions.
