Mental health training program addresses refugees’ needs

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health offers free online training to help front-line community workers deal with refugee mental health needs.

As an immigrant settlement worker, Kayla Potts was well-trained to help newcomers find housing or enrol their children in school. But she felt ill-prepared to help with the mental or emotional problems that so often come with war or famine, or the stress of starting over.
