Clients at CAMH can often struggle with what they’ve left behind. For many,
the family pet is the one thing they miss the most since animals are not allowed
on the units of CAMH. Luckily, there is an exception.
Every Thursday, Education Scientist and animal therapy volunteer Sophie
Soklaridis brings her Portuguese Water Dog Cherry around to a few units for
a visit with clients. The brief break in routine is the most anticipated event
of the week.
We followed Sophie and Cherry around for a visit to
the College Street site to share this unique experience.
