For the eighth year in a row, CAMH has been recognized as one of the Greater Toronto’s Top Employers.
The Top Employer Award is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and recognizes leading organizations across the GTA that offer an exceptional place to work.
Employers were evaluated on physical workplace, work atmosphere, health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
Here are some of the reasons why CAMH was selected as one of the GTA’s Top Employers 2016:
- Exceptional family-friendly benefits, including maternity and parental leave top-up payments for employees.
- Onsite daycare facility employees can take advantage of when they are ready to return to work
- New employees at CAMH receive three weeks of vacation to start, moving to a maximum of seven weeks for longstanding employees
- As part of the organization's important role in the community, CAMH hosts a number of events and celebrations for employees, families, clients and the broader community on key diversity dates, including , International Women's Day and National Aboriginal Awareness Week.
“This year’s competition saw a record number of employers applying for the competition and the level of competition among the winners was exceptional,” says CAMH Vice President of Human Resources, Kim Bellissimo. “The GTA Top Employer award really speaks to CAMH’s commitment to excellence as well as our belief in the significance of workplace best practices.”
The winners were announced in a special magazine published in the Globe and Mail.
