March 16 - 22nd is Brain Awareness Week (BAW), a global campaign to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research. In recognition of the week, CAMH has created this special page devoted to some of our research highlights of the past year.
Dr. Arvid Carlsson, recipient of the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 2000, reflects on his 70 years in research with Dr. Jeff Daskalakis and Dr. James Kennedy of CAMH’s Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute. Dr. Carlsson talks about his Nobel-winning discoveries, current studies and gives advice to young scientists.
