Since its inception in 2018, the Discovery Fund has played a pivotal role in advancing groundbreaking research ideas and transformative initiatives across CAMH. Created as part of an unprecedented $100-million anonymous donation, the Discovery Fund has enabled CAMH to:
accelerate its efforts to transform the lives of people who live with mental illness
incubate and activate the next generation of leading scientists
foster discovery and innovation to advance our understanding of disease mechanisms, effective diagnosis and testing, and new ways to predict, prevent and recover from mental illness
enhance data platforms and analytics enabling cutting-edge research, and translation into clinical practice
These activities have positioned CAMH to make significant contributions to the field of mental health research, ultimately leading to improved outcomes for individuals navigating the challenges of mental health conditions.
