Dr. Sergio Rueda is an Independent Scientist with the Institute for Mental Health Policy Research at CAMH. He is also Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Work and Health.
Areas of Research
Dr. Rueda has a background in psychology and clinical epidemiology, and brings with him vast knowledge and experience in community-based research. He has been involved in policy-relevant research around labour force participation, working conditions and income security, the impact of employment conditions on health outcomes, as well as how psychosocial stressors and resilience factors affect the mental health of people living with HIV. Dr. Rueda has also been involved in a portfolio of community-based research projects examining the economic and related social challenges of people with HIV and overseeing a knowledge synthesis program that is responsible for a growing portfolio of scoping and systematic reviews focusing on the health effects of a variety of psychosocial stressors and determinants of health.
