CAMH's Forensic Rehabilitation Unit D of the Complex Care & Recovery Program (CCR) provides rehabilitation and risk management to 14 co-ed clients/patients on an inpatient basis.
All clients/patients are admitted under the Criminal Code of Canada, ie they have been found Not Criminally Responsible, Unfit to Stand Trial or have Treatment Orders. These clients/patients require an increased level of support, not increased security, and are more likely to have a hybrid order on their disposition .
The goal of the unit is the provision of effective clinical treatment and risk management to clients/patients with a wide range of diagnosis. Ultimately, the goal is to increase engagement of the clients/patients in their treatment, maintain or increase optimal functioning so that the likelihood of successful reintegration into the community is increased.
Referral Required: Referrals (from secure or other CCR units) are made to the manager. All admissions to the Forensic Rehabilitation Unit D are coordinated by the internal Bed Utilization Committee.
