CAMH’s continuing mental health education courses and events offer family physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists and other health-care providers award-winning interprofessional mental health education through live and online interactive lectures, small group discussions, case reviews and conferences. Courses and events are accredited for family physicians and psychiatrists by the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
CAMH also offers a wide range of online and classroom courses aimed at professionals in all health-related disciplines, including community-based professionals such as police officers, firefighters, teachers, armed forces personnel and counsellors. Concurrent Disorders Certificate Program
The Concurrent Disorders Certificate Program is designed to help participants gain skills and knowledge to better identify, assess and provide treatment to people with concurrent disorders.
The Opioid Dependence Treatment Certificate Program has been developed to prepare physicians, pharmacists, nurses and counsellors to provide a comprehensive range of services for people with opioid use disorder. All professionals are encouraged to complete the entire certificate program to improve their skills and knowledge in treating opioid use disorder.
This new self-directed online course explores the health needs of adults with developmental disabilities (DD), and the contributing factors that account for disparities in health and health care between adults living with DD and those in the general population.
Formerly known as the Ontario Methadone Prescribers' Conference and coordinated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Opioid Use Disorder Conference is now lead by CAMH. Topics to be highlighted include treatment approaches, harm reduction strategies, clinical guidelines and new evidence.
