Event Overview
In March 2024, changes to Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) law were delayed. The changes would have expanded MAiD eligibility so that people whose only medical condition is mental illness could apply.
With this delay, many people may be asking: what now? Join a panel of experts as they explore what this means for people with lived experience of mental illness, and their families and loved ones, and discuss questions from the audience.
Speakers:
Dr. Sanjeev Sockalingam (MC and moderator), Chief Medical Officer and Vice President, Education, CAMH
Dr. Tarek Rajji, Senior Scientist, CAMH
Lucy Costa, Deputy Executive Director, Empowerment Council
Shawn Lucas, Manager, Spiritual Care Service, CAMH
