Evidence Exchange Network (EENet; formerly OMHAKEN) is a mental health and addictions network that connects researchers, clinicians, decision-makers, service providers, system planners, policymakers, persons with lived experience, and families across Ontario. EENet promotes the use of research evidence in decision-making by providing an infrastructure that links research with mental health and addictions stakeholders. The network also develops targeted knowledge translation products and tools, and supports interactive exchanges. By creating and sharing evidence about services, supports, and systems, EENet aims to build a better mental health and addictions system in the province.
EENet Connect is an online community where any member of Ontario’s mental health and addictions system can create profiles, share knowledge, and collaborate more effectively with one another. The community reinforces existing relationships, while allowing new connections to take root and grow. www.eenetconnect.ca
Originally called the Ontario Mental Health and Addictions Knowledge Exchange Network (OMHAKEN), EENet has supported the knowledge transfer and exchange needs of a number of projects and initiatives, including:
• Systems Enhancement Evaluation Initiative (SEEI)
• Creating Together
• Drug Treatment Funding Program Ontario Systems Projects
Learn more about these and other initiatives on the EENet website.
EENet has also produced many knowledge translation products and tools to support service-providers, policy makers, and other stakeholders of mental health and addictions research in their efforts to integrate evidence into their thinking and practices, whether at the service-delivery or policy levels.

Resources and partnerships
EENet uses a “network of networks” approach: existing and new networks link to EENet, resulting in broad, province-wide linkages that take advantage of how stakeholders are already connected in the system. The EENet Management and Resource Centre is located in the Provincial System Support Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Regional knowledge exchange leads are based throughout Ontario, ensuring the network’s reach. EENet receives direction and guidance from a steering committee that represents diverse perspectives from across the province.
