Dr. Arun Ravindran is a Senior Scientist in the Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute at CAMH, and a Staff Psychiatrist in the Division of Mood and Anxiety Disorders. He is Professor and Director of Global Mental Health Affairs and the Office of Fellowship Training, as well as Head of the Senior Promotions Committee, in the the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He is also part of the graduate faculty in the Department of Psychology and the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto.
Areas of Research
Dr. Ravindran’s clinical and research interests lie in the areas of mood and anxiety disorders. One focus of his research is the behavioural pharmacology of psychotropic agents and their synergy with psychological therapies, and the use of neurobiological approaches (including functional neuroimaging) to examine the aetiological and treatment correlates of these illnesses. Another focus is the influence of psychosocial stressors and the associated neuroendocrine and neuroimmune system changes in the causation and maintenance of depressive and anxiety disorders.
