The Forensic Rehabilitation Unit (C) of
the Complex Mental Illness Program provides rehabilitation and risk management
to 23 male clients/patients on an inpatient basis. All clients/patients are admitted under the
Criminal Code of Canada, ie. they have been found Not Criminally Responsible,
Unfit to Stand Trial or have Treatment Orders.
The goal of the unit is the provision of
effective clinical treatment and risk management to clients/patients with a
wide range of diagnosis. Ultimately, the goal is to increase engagement of the clients/patients
in their treatment, maintain or increase optimal functioning so that the likelihood
of successful reintegration into the community is increased.
Referral Required: All
admissions to the General Rehabilitation Unit are coordinated by the internal Bed
Utilization Committee.
