The University of Toronto has just appointed CAMH Senior Scientist Dr. Trevor Young as Dean of Faculty of Medicine for a five-year term starting in 2015.
Dr. Young is also Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, as well as Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. He is a clinician-scientist, and maintains an active program of research on the molecular basis of bipolar disorder and its treatment, and how to apply these findings to the clinical setting.
Dr. Young’s research focuses on understanding the processes that lead to long-term changes in brain structure and function in patients with bipolar disorder and how these changes can be targeted by mood stabilizing drugs.
