An educational forum presented by George Brown College’s Centre for Preparatory & Liberal Studies in partnership with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

About the Conference
This year’s mental health conference theme, “What Keeps Us Going – Embracing Vulnerability and Fostering Resilience in Ourselves and Others” will be presented by Dr. Gabor Maté and will discuss and explore:

• Understand resilience and its connection to mental health issues and addictions
• Examine the impact of early trauma and neglect on the development of resilience
• Explore various ways of knowing: intellectual, experiential, intuitive and their relationship to resilience
• Examine our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs both within and outside of work
• Address the practitioners’ vulnerability to stress and compassion fatigue
• Create conditions that uncover our innate resilience and the resilience those we work with
